Called Board Meeting
Wednesday, May 19, 2004
The Tuscaloosa City Board of Education met on Wednesday,
May 19, 2004 at 7 a.m. for a called board meeting at the
Central Office in the Regions Room with
Ms. Shelley Jones, board chair, presiding.
Members in attendance were as follows: Dr. Milla Boschung,
Ms. Ninette Cannon, Mr. Bryan Chandler,
Reverend Richard Adams, Dr. Milton Pearson,
Ms. Jones and Superintendent Dr. Joyce Levey.
Mr. James Minyard and Mr. Dan Meissner were not in attendance.
- Welcome and Introductions
- Period of Silence
and Pledge of Allegiance
- Adoption of the Agenda
On motion by Reverend Adams, seconded by Mr. Chandler, the
Board unanimously approved the adoption of the agenda as
presented.
- Approve Superintendent’s Recommendations
Regarding Changes in Personnel
Mr. Maddox requested that the Board convene an executive
session to discuss possible
litigation regarding personnel.
On motion by Reverend Adams seconded by Mr. Chandler, the Board convened an executive
session.
On motion by Mr. Chandler, seconded by Dr. Pearson, the Board unanimously approved
to convene an open hearing.
On motion by Mr. Chandler, seconded by Dr. Boschung, the Board unanimously
approved the Superintendent’s recommendations regarding changes in personnel.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
