STUDENT TRANSFER POLICY
It is the policy of the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education to enforce school attendance zones and to undertake appropriate address verification. All students in the Tuscaloosa City School system should attend the school servicing the attendance area within which they actually reside. The following exceptions may be considered but will be monitored for any impact on the schools’ building capacities and the Alabama State Department of Education’s teacher/pupil ratio.
- Administrative Reassignment pursuant to the Student/Parent Resource Guide and Code of Student Conduct
- A student has requested and has been granted a transfer from his/her attendance zone area to another school in accordance with the following school board policies on transfer categories:
- Hardships
- Physical Disabilities/Medical
- Emotional/Psychiatric
- Personal Safety
- Educational Program
