Benefits Supervisor
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Five (5) years office experience required.
- Practical experience in a human resource (personnel), business
or payroll office preferred.

Supervisor(s):
Director of Personnel Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Skills in administrative detail.
- Ability to keep business matters confidential.
- Ability to type 50 words per minute.
- Ability to be proficient in technology programs such as
Word, Excel, Access,
Publisher, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively via e-mail and
other methods of
electronic communication.
- Ability to deal with people in a pleasant, courteous
manner.
- Ability to use excellent business English, grammar,
spelling and punctuation.
- Ability to organize materials and maintain accurate
records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective
relationships with others.
- Physical and emotional ability and dexterity
to work and move about as needed in a fast-paced,
high-intensity
work environment.
Essential functions:
- Serves as contact person for employee retirement counseling,
information and
processing.
- Serves as contact person for group health insurance information
and related matters.
- Receives and processes applications for FMLA and catastrophic
illnesses.
- Signs up new employees for benefits and related payroll forms.
- Operates the McAleer Personnel System in an efficient and
effective manner.
- Prepares and processes LEAPs and SLEAPS reports for certified
and support personnel to the State Department of Education.
- Serves as a liaison for the Sick Leave Bank Committees.
- Prints and distributes annual contracts to all employees.
- Inputs into the personnel system all relevant data for employees.
- Assists the Finance Department with monthly payroll by providing
necessary
personnel data.
- Keeps current and updated changes to the school system’s fringe benefits
programs.
- Takes leave time in accordance with Board policy and reports
all absences to
SubFinder as required by established procedures.
- Attends works regularly as scheduled and is punctual.
- Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties
assigned by the immediate
supervisor.
Terms of employment:
The terms of employment shall be in accordance with the provisions
of the Board's Policy Manual, Fair Dismissal Act of Alabama and
the Board's Salary Schedule
- Central Office Administrative Support.
Evaluation:
Performance evaluation shall be in accordance with the provisions
of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel
