Carpenter
Qualifications for the position:
High school diploma or GED with written verification of 8 years
of verified experience in carpentry. At least 4 of which must be
at the assistant level or the equivalent, or verified proof of 3
years of assistant level experience or the equivalent in a school
system maintenance department in the relevant trade. Possess a valid
Alabama drivers license.
Duties and Responsibilities are as follows:
- Help with skilled bench work in a carpenter shop operating various
power and hand tools.
- Light masonry, glazing, painting, sheet rock finish and installing
roofing materials.
- Maintain daily maintenance logs and work reports indicating
time and materials used.
- Be responsible for all equipment, vehicles, tools and other
equipment.
- Assist with the movement of portable classrooms.
- Assist other trades in areas related to overall maintenance
eof the school system when assigned.
- Assume other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned
by the immediate supervisor.
Job Goal:
To help with carpentry support for the operation of the school
system.
