Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. 3+ years experience with business background including CRT experience.

Coordinator of Attendance and Pupil Services

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  1. Ability to use word processing programs on a typewriter or computer.
  2. Ability to use a 3-key adding machine, copier and 3M reader printer.
  3. Demonstrated ability to type at 50 words per minute is preferred.
  4. Ability to use friendly, pleasant, courteous and helpful telephone demeanor.
  5. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and adjust to new situations.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  7. Ability to organize and maintain accurate records.
  8. Ability to use excellent business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  9. Be capable of moving and lifting moderately heavy weights.
  10. Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast-paced, high-intensive work environment.

Essential functions:

  1. Assists with all correspondence related to attendance, pupil services and school nursing programs.
  2. Places and receives telephone calls and records messages.
  3. Orders and maintains supplies as directed.
  4. Maintains a regular filing system including the monthly attendance and disciplinary reports, TB skin tests, and accident reports.
  5. Types and files reports to various local and state agencies.
  6. Contacts school administrators as directed on matters relating to attendance.
  7. Files and maintains appropriate manuals, policy bulletins, forms, etc.
  8. Performs calculations and assists in the preparation of statistical reports.
  9. Provides clerical assistance to the Executive Director for General Administration.
  10. Maintains appointments for all disciplinary hearings and is responsible for coordinating all school board hearings.
  11. Performs related duties as assigned by the Attendance Coordinator and school nurses.

Terms of employment

The terms of employment shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Board's Policy Manual, Fair Dismissal Act of Alabama and the Board's Salary Schedule - Central Office Administrative Support - Grade III.

Evaluation

Performance evaluation shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel - GCRK and GCRK - R.
