Secretary, Educational Programs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Clerical experience preferred.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- 1. Organize an effective office with attention to administrative
detail.
- Ability to keep business matters confidential.
- Demonstrate ability to type 60 words per minute is preferred.
- Proficiency in technology programs such as Word, Excel, Access,
Publisher, etc.
- Ability to deal with people in person or on the telephone in
a pleasant, courteous manner.
- Ability to use excellent business English, grammar, spelling,
and punctuation.
- Ability to organize materials and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to distribute documents in an efficient and effective
manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with
others.
- Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required
work and move about as needed in a fast-paced, high-intensive
work environment.
Essential functions:
- Coordinates appointments and calendar for the Director of Educational
Programs.
- Distributes mail and other correspondence in an efficient and
effective manner.
- Answers all telephone calls, e-mails and takes messages.
- Opens and process mail, faxes and e-mails within the Office
of Educational Programs.
- Prepares memorandums, letters and other correspondence for the
Director of Educational Programs.
- Takes leave time in accordance with Board policy and reports
all absences to SubFinder in a timely manner.
- Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned
by the immediate supervisor.
Terms of employment:
The terms of employment shall be in accordance with the provisions
of the Board's Policy Manual, Fair Dismissal Act of Alabama and
the Board's Salary Schedule - Central Office Administrative Support
- Grade IV.
Evaluation:
Performance evaluation shall be in accordance with the provisions
of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel -
GCRK and GCRK
