LENGTH OF SCHOOL TERM

Each school system in Alabama is required to have a minimum of 180 school days. The total number of work days for teachers and other staff members must be at least 187 days.

In the Tuscaloosa City Schools System teachers and other nine month employees are paid for 187 days of service, including 180 school days and seven days for in-service.
