PROCEDURE OF MINIMUM
ACADEMIC STANDARDS
To be promoted from one grade level
to the following grade level, a student
must master the minimum competencies in
reading/English and math and the objectives
in the specified levels. In determining
the promotion or retention of a student,
the student's record is evaluated. This
record contains reading/English and math
levels mastered, achievement test scores,
The Alabama Basic Competency Test scores,
attendance data, information on special
services received, and the number of failing
grades in all subjects.
