Enrollment Requirement

Children entering kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 2. Children entering first grade must be six years old on or before September 2.

A child enrolling in school for the first time in either kindergarten or first grade must present:

• an official birth certificate
• original social security card
• proof of residence (current lease agreement, utility bill or notarized certificate form).

Students are required to live with a parent or legal custodian. Students new to the system also must present a current report card or transcript.
