It's hard to believe we are in our last week of school for the 2017-18 school year! This year has flown by, and shows no sign of slowing down this week! I want to congratulate our 2018 Graduates...quite an incredible group of young men and women. I'm very proud to share that we graduated every Senior on our campus this year! If you were able to attend the ceremony Saturday, you heard the incredible accomplishments of this group, and how they've carried on the tradition of excellence for our underclassmen to follow. Carol Johnson did a fantastic job delivering the Senior Class Challenge as well.
As you already know, we will be taking final exams this week on Wednesday and Thursday. I sent a message last week with the exam schedule for all high schools in the district, but failed to notice that the schedule I sent had students picking up sack lunches at 9:45AM on Wednesday and Thursday. That will not be the procedure at Northridge. Our students will get the opportunity to eat lunch/pick up sack lunches at 11:10AM. Students who bring lunches will eat in class, students who purchase lunches will go the the cafeteria to pick up a sack lunch and return to class. Buses will load when we dismiss school Wednesday and Thursday at 11:30AM. As a reminder please note the following schedule for this Wednesday and Thursday:
Wednesday, May 23rd
1st Block Exam 8:10AM-9:40AM
2nd Block Exam 9:45AM-11:10AM
Lunch in Class 11:10AM-11:30AM
Thursday, May 24th
3rd Block Exam 8:10AM-9:40AM
4th Block Exam 9:45AM-11:10AM
Lunch in Class 11:10AM-11:30AM
Students who turned in exemption forms signed by their teachers and parents will be allowed to exempt exams for which they met criteria for exemption. Students who intend to leave campus following their 1st or 3rd block exams Wednesday or Thursday must still turn in a parent note to their 1st or 3rd block teacher and sign out with teachers before leaving class. We will retain the parent note and exemption form for documentation that students had permission to leave campus early. Please make sure students who have your permission to leave early have transportation at that time. Students who miss exams and are not exempt will be counted absent and will receive a grade of zero for that exam. We want to insure that we all (faculty/staff and parents) are aware of where our students are, and that there are plans in place for appropriate supervision of our most precious resource...our students. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions. Have a great week, and GO JAGS!!!
Congratulations to Rebecca Han, Isaac Smith, Nathan Shemwell, Walker Ferry! Perfect 36 score on the ACT! Go Jags!
Caroline MacVicar won the girls class 6A Medalist Runner Up for the 2018 season. She shot a 74 and a 72.
