    Volleyball Off to a Great Start for 2019!

    The Varsity girls volleyball team started off the season with top 5 finish out of 20 teams at the Briarwood Tournament, defeating Guntersville, Briarwood, and Geraldine. With a strong schedule and a determined team, this season will be a winning one! 

    The JV girls volleyball team started off the season 3-2 at the Oak Mt Tournament. This group of girls is improving and growing every day! We are looking toward a winning season!

    Both teams just keep winning with this week's commanding defeat of cross-town rival Tuscaloosa County High!

    2019 TCS Media Days for Fall Athletics!

    Pictures from the first TCS Athletic Media Day, featuring coaches and student-athletes from Central High, Paul W. Bryant High, and Northridge High. These students athletes, from Cross Country, Volleyball and Football talked about leadership, getting better every day, teamwork, goals and expectations and what it will take to get to be champions of their sport.

    2019 Fall Athletes








    Northridge won a second straight state title with a team total 490. UMS-Wright was second at 505, followed by Muscle Shoals (526) and Spanish Fort (656). UMS-Wright’s Lauren Gilchrist posted a 1-under 71 to close at 2-over 146 and earn Class 6A low medalist. Northridge’s Caroline MacVicar shot a 77 Tuesday and finished second at 149. Her sister, Kate MacVicar, had a round of 76 and finished fourth.

    2019 Spring Athletic Signing...

    Eight Spring sport athletes signed to continue their careers at the college level. Baseball, Track, and Tennis all represented. 

    Baseball: Markie Buettner, Marlon Henry, Austin Elliott - Bevill State and John Thigpen - Marion Military Institute

    Track: Grover Winston - Meridian Community College and Esclavon Prewitt - University of Montevallo

    Tennis: Allison Stegall - Huntingdon College

    These signees bring Northridge's total athletic signees to 18 for the 2018-19 school year, with 3 athletes still weighing offers.

    Congratulations on this prestigious award!

    Northridge students made history by competing on the first Battle of the Books team. The team members were Destini Bailey, Landon Smith, Gabriel Feng, and Areebah Mubin. The team competed in the City/County High School Division, Tuesday, March 26th at Five Points Baptist Church. Northridge won both of their pool games and the first round of tournament play. They fell short in round 2 of tournament play. Overall, making it to the semi-finals in the first year was thrilling. The team did an awesome job. Congratulations to Areebah Mubin also, for being the high scorer for Northridge. Great job!

    Congratulations to Kameron Miller for being invited to attend West Point, the United States Military Academy. Kameron is the first cadet from the Bryant/Northridge JROTC program to achieve this prestigious invitation. Although Kameron left Northridge in January for a family move to Arizona, we still claim him as one of ours. We are so proud of you! Go Jags! Go Army!

    Northridge Swimmers Place at State Meet!

    Northridge swimmers picked up several key spots at this year's AHSAA State Swim meet in Auburn.  Congratulations to Sloan Donovan who placed 2nd in the 500 yd. freestyle and 14th in the 200 yd. freestyle. Also, congratulations to Walker Ferry who placed 6th in the 100 yd backstroke and 8th in the 200 yd. IM. Way to go Jags!. We are proud of all of you!

    Northridge students give back!

    Students from Northridge High School are making a difference in Tuscaloosa as part of the United Way's Annual Giving Campaign. During this school year, Northridge students raised $1,079.00 to support the work of the charitable organization through a variety of fundraisers including Homecoming Dance ticket sales.

    In a special district-wide celebration event November 5th, Northridge SGA students, Katherine Stanley, and Amelia Upton presented United Way CEO Jackie Wuska with a check signed by the students. United Way of West Alabama strengthens education, income stability and health in our nine-county footprint by developing resources and strategic partnerships. Donations to United Way of West Alabama stay local and go directly to agencies and initiatives improving our community. 

    Northridge Marching Band is Superior!

    The Northridge Marching Band participated this weekend in the West Alabama Marching Competitions in Gordo. The received superior ratings from all of the judges, which is the highest score you can get. In addition to the overall band, the following also received superior scores:

    Cross Country Runners Score Big!

    Congratulations to both of the Northridge XC teams for becoming Sectional Champions!  The boys team had 5 Top finishers in the Top 10 runners: John Niiler was first, Adam Bolton was 2nd, Natham Shemwell was 3rd, Forrest York was 4th and Nolan Pedota finished 10th. The girls had 6 runners finish in the top 10. They were led by Mary Mac Collins (8th grade), Elizabeth Vise was 4th, Leah Dendy was 6th, Anna Grace Smith was 8th, Reagan Oliver was 9th and Clara Gage was 10th!

    Congrats to all our XC runners for an outstanding performance!

    2018 All-Academic Club Inductees

    Today, 35 students were inducted into the All-Academic Club. The All-Academic Club is a club for those students that have scored 30 or above on the ACT. Counting this year's inductees, Northridge has 76 students currently enrolled that have scored 30 or above on the ACT.  The current Senior class has the most members with 23% of seniors scoring 30 or above on the ACT. GO ACADEMIC JAGS!


    Two Northridge High School students are being lauded for their scholastic achievement through the National Merit by National Merit Scholarship Program. Hannah Irby and Samantha Savage have been named Commended Scholars. The two are part of a distinguished group in the more than two-thirds (about 34,000) of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT® who received Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. 

    Semifinalists in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program

    Today, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition.  Over 90 percent of the Semifinalist are expected to attain Finalist standing, and about half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.  Congratulations to all of our Jaguars!  

    Congratulations to Mrs. Patrice Hardy, Transition Teacher for winning the 2017 Nick's Kids Foundation Excellence Teacher Award.   Mrs. Hardy will be recognized at the Alabama vs. Louisiana Lafayette game on Saturday, September 29th.  Mrs. Hardy said, "I am tickled pink to receive this honor and recognition twice. This truly means so much to me because I believe in my students.  I always look beyond their behaviors to see their true abilities.  I am blessed to work with six amazing Rock Stars. 

    Sara Lang Wins Congressional Award

    2018 Northridge graduate, Sara Lang, now a freshman at Alabama, has won the Congressional Award’s bronze medal for her service to her community. This is not an easy award to achieve. We think she might be the first ever from the 4th District. Congratulations Sara.
