Marvin L. Lucas represents District 6 on the Tuscaloosa City Schools Board of Education.
He was born in Mobile, Ala. to Virginia T. and David Lucas. He attended the University of Alabama and is an Assistant Supervisor of Phlebotomy at DCH Regional Medical Center, where he works with the HOSA/Medical Profession students in Tuscaloosa city and county schools.
Lucas is a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and serves on the Youth Council and Outreach Ministry, as well as audio and video ministry.
He is the father of Victoria Lucas. He has been an active PTA volunteer and an advocate for the education and well-being of all children for the past 15 years. Lucas has served as Tuscaloosa City PTA President, President of City PTA Council, Alabama PTA Field Service Representative, Diversity Committee Chair and Male Involvement Chair.
He has served on the National PTA level and is a member of Men Organized to Raise Engagement and All Pro Dads. Mr. Lucas represented Tuscaloosa at the National Council of States Representative for Alabama PTA for two years.
In 2018, he was selected as an AASB All-State Board Member.
