My name is Travis Moore, and I have been teaching since 2013. I was born, and have spent my entire life, in the State of Alabama. I grew up in the tiny town of Berry, Alabama and graduated from Berry High School. After graduating high school, I attended the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama. I hold a BS in History with a minor in Political Science and a MAT-History from UWA.
I am currently employed as a ninth grade history and senior Theory of Knowledge teacher at Central High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It has truly been a wonderful experience working with Tuscaloosa City Schools, and I truly love the students that I am able to interact with on a daily basis. I am also a new husband and father. My wife and I were married in December of 2015 and our son was born in September of 2017. Living in Tuscaloosa has enabled our family to spend more time together and my son is able to get a great deal of quality time with his grandparents, whom he loves.
TCS has also provided me with many opportunities to improve my professional practice and to become a teacher-leader. In 2018, I was selected to be part of TCS’s Future Instructional Leadership Academy. This program placed a great emphasis on developing the skills needed for instructional leadership and encouraged me to seriously consider my role as a teacher-leader. I have also been supported in efforts to further my education, promote international travel for TCS students, and encourage participation in Speech and Debate at Central High School.
I love working in the TCS because: of the opportunities and resources that are avaliable to me.
