From debating to cooking, ukeles to remote controlled cars, animation books to step-by-step drawings, auto mechanics to board games, and more, students are invited to “Join A Group” during JAG Time every other Friday. Informally known as “Club Day,” this time gives students a chance to step out of the traditional classroom and learn while having fun. Being part of a club is another opportunity for students to learn a new skill, contribute to the thinking of a group, and socialize with others.
Clubs offer important life skills like leadership, service, writing skills, and negotiating. They model having fun while also getting work done. And being in clubs introduces students to new topics, fun experiences, and new relationships with peers and adults. Clubs are sponsored by teachers and staff and offer a large variety of topics for participants to enjoy hands-on, outside the box experiences together.
