Middle School Matters!

  • The superintendent's strategic plan, approved by the board of education in December of 2015, included a commitment to making middle grades education a priority in the Tuscaloosa City Schools. Since that time, groups of stakeholders across the system have worked together to develop Middle School Matters!, our position statement and public commitment regarding middle grades education.

  • How will this affect my school?
The commitments articulated in Middle Schools Matters! have been adopted by all Tuscaloosa City Schools as the guiding principles around which to structure all school plans and initiatives. Visit your school’s website and contact your school’s principal for more information about how Middle School Matters! will impact the school this year. More information will be provided to parents at Open House on August 31st.
