Meet the Board Members

The Tuscaloosa City Board of Education is comprised of eight members, with one member being elected from each of the seven city council districts by a majority of the qualified electors voting who reside in the district and one member, who shall serve as chair, being elected from the city at-large. Our current board is as follows:

• District 2: Kendra Williams
• District 3: Lesley Powell
• District 4: Patrick Hamner
• District 5: Erica Grant
• District 6: Marvin Lucas
• District 7: Erskine Simmons

Schools located inside each board district can be found on their biography page. The following schools serve students from across the district: STARS Academy, Tuscaloosa Career & Technology Academy, Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools - Elementary, and Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools - Middle.
