Alayna McCormack

Alayna started teaching at Northridge High School in 2017. After completing her student-teaching internship at NHS, she decided to stay in Tuscaloosa to continue teaching Anatomy and Physiology and Environmental Science. She has also taught Chemistry and AP Environmental Science. Alayna received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama in Secondary Science Education and Biology with Honors and a minor in Economics. Her time in the Tuscaloosa City Schools began while she was in college working with elementary schoolers with the Al’s Pals Mentoring Program. Since being at Northridge, she has sponsored clubs including the Key Club and was voted Rookie Teacher of the Year by her fellow faculty members. She also coaches the JV and Varsity tennis teams. Outside of school, you can catch Alayna traveling throughout the southeast, spending time with her husband and three cats, working out, or binge watching just about anything.

I love working in the TCS because: I get to work with the best teachers and students who push me to grow everyday.
