Specialty School Offerings

The Tuscaloosa City Schools have created specialty programs for each and every student to achieve personal, academic and career success.

The online application for Tuscaloosa City Schools’ specialty programs is only open from January 2 through January 31 each year. 

The admissions window for the 2024-2025 school year has closed.

Families have the opportunity to apply for Fall admission during that time period to one of the following schools:

Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools-Elementary: grades 1-5

Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools-Middle: grades 6-8

The Alberta School of Performing Arts: grades 6-8

The application for the 2025-2026 school year will open on Thursday, January 2, 2025 and will close on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 3 p.m.

Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools and IB Continuation: During the spring of each year, all current TCS Magnet school students will be asked to complete an intent form if they desire to continue the IB Programme (each grade level and from Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools-Middle to Central High School.)
