Good Day Falcon Parents, Guardians, Students, and Alumni!

It is indeed a great day to be a Falcon! I am excited about this wonderful opportunity to lead such a fantastic group of young men and women at THE Central High School. I bring to Central High School 15 years of experience in the field of education. I spent seven of those years as a classroom English teacher, three of those years as a Curriculum Specialist, four years were spent as an Assistant Principal, a brief stint was served as Interim Principal, and, currently, I am the Proud Principal of Central High School. Not only am I a 1999 graduate of Central, but I have been a curriculum leader and then administrator here since 2012. I am also a proud graduate of the University of Alabama! Roll Tide! I am excited about the direction of the school and the wonderful momentum that we have going in the Falcons' Nest.

Our faculty and staff are working hard to prepare students for the upcoming state assessments such as the ACT for juniors, the district-required Scantron Assessment for freshmen and sophomores, and graduation for our seniors. We are fine-tuning our instructional practices, teaching strategies, and classroom environment to ensure that it supports student-learning and growth. As it relates to curriculum and instruction, we are taking a literacy focus in order to better serve our students and to provide them with the best tools and skills to be better across the curriculum. We will be spending the remainder of the semester and this summer in PLC's (Professional Learning Communities) geared toward literacy and designing what this refocus will look like in each of our classrooms, especially during these times where academics and instruction has taken a toll due to the "Covid Slide".

"During these unprecedented times, it is my sincere hope that all of the Falcon Family and every extension of us near and far are staying safe. As I often say, this too shall pass."
