Meet the Principal of Woodland Forrest Elementary School

  • Dear Parents;

    Greetings and welcome to the Woodland Forrest Elementary 2020-21 school year, a year that promises to be like no other! It will be a year of challenges, but it will also be a year full of opportunity. Together, we will overcome the obstacles of logistical and physical safety issues, and at the same time, embrace the chance to advance and modernize our instructional practices.

    Our incredible faculty and staff are ready for these challenges. They are eager to reunite and connect with our students and families, and have spent considerable time crafting thoughtful, meticulous plans to ensure that all students will receive robust and rigorous instruction each day. Their attitude and capabilities come as no surprise. WFES spent the entire 2019-20 school year with collective teacher efficacy and technology integration as main areas of focus. In the spring, our school set the TCS standard for viurtual learning, routinely producing high-quality, individualized instruction, and we’ve only gotten stronger in this capacity.

    OUR expectations have not changed. We still expect ALL students to learn and grow. The only real change from last spring to this fall is YOUR expectations for your child. The spring was an adjustment period for everyone, and it was understandable that some students and families struggled to engage on a regular basis. This fall must be different. Student participation is NOT optional. Beginning August 20th, school is “in session” each and every day. This means that attendance will be taken, assignments wil be given and work will be graded. Whether students are learning at home or at school, the learning must continue. We are ALL accountable for our students’ success.

    My promise to you is that I will do everything I can to ensure that WFES holds up its end of the learning contract. Our highly-qualified teachers will deliver exceptional instruction each and every day, to each and every student, and we will work hard to esure that everyone still feels like a member of The Forrest. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions and concerns. Your participation, input and feedback are not only welcome, but necessary. We’ll get through this together!
