Meet the Principal of Central Elementary School
Dear Families, Parents and Friends,
On behalf of our Champion staff, we would like to welcome our students back to Central Elementary where Champions are made!
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the incoming Principal of Central Elementary School. It is truly an honor to become a part of the Central family and community. Even though I have only had limited interactions with the faculty and parents thus far, I can already tell that it is a unique and special place that I am incredibly excited to become a part of.
I come to you with 19 years of experience as an educator; however, I come from a family of educators and military veterans, so I have been around this profession all my life. I spent 8 years teaching elementary education learning the foundation of the educational curriculum.
My philosophy of leading educational reforms evolved from many years of teaching and administrative experiences. As I reflect on my beliefs regarding leading and promoting change, I find that my mission as a leader is threefold:
- to promote positive learning using innovative practices
- to spark student’s enthusiasm for learning by building positive relationships
- to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning
Therefore, I believe wholeheartedly that every student deserves a quality education and that only happens when the school and the families work together for the best interests of our children. With that in mind, I will be calling on all our faculty, staff, and parents to work as a singular unit, so we can best serve our students here at Central virtually and face-to-face.
I am truly honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to immersing myself completely in our school and in our community. I believe my main responsibility is to put our teachers in the best possible position to succeed, as they will in-turn put our students in the best possible position to succeed. I look forward to meeting all of you and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
We are looking forward to our collaboration in providing a safe and nurturing environment as well as a diverse curriculum here at Central Elementary where Champions are made.
Jerry Collins, Ph.D.
