Announcing a new TCS Virtual Program for 2026-27!

The Tuscaloosa City Schools is expanding learning opportunities for high school students through the launch of the TCS Virtual Program, beginning in the 2026–27 school year. This program is designed for students who thrive in a flexible, online learning environment while still staying connected to their zoned high school community.

The TCS Virtual Program will serve 125–250 students in grades 9–12 who live within the Tuscaloosa city limits. Students will remain enrolled in their zoned high school.

Instruction will be delivered through a blend of asynchronous (on-demand) and synchronous (live) coursework.  The virtual program is open only to high school students; it is not available for elementary or middle school grades. Applicants' GPA, attendance, and disciplinary records will be reviewed as part of the application process.

  • More individual attention and personalized instruction
  • Classes taught by certified, TCS teachers
  • Students stay enrolled in their zoned high school
