Cadet Emia Sesson placed 6th at the National Society Sons of the American Revolution Outstanding Cadet Enhanced Program for SY 2020-21. This is the second year in a row that a Central High School Cadet has placed in the top 10. The past three Alabama state winners have been from the Tuscaloosa City Schools System. Cadet Byrd (PWBHS) in 2019, Cadet DeCaro (CHS) in 2020, and Cadet Sesson in 2021. Add Cadet Erskine Simmons to the list in 2017 and TCS has four of the last five state winners.
While both Cadets Sesson and DeCaro fell short by one for receiving a monetary award, placing in the top 10 at the national level speaks volumes for these cadets.
Both Central and Paul W. Bryant JROTC programs are producing some tremendous leaders and outstanding cadets. This is something for the entire community to be proud.
