City of Tuscaloosa Council, School Board Inauguration set for May 22
Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The City of Tuscaloosa Council and Tuscaloosa City Board of Education will hold a joint inauguration ceremony at 10 a.m., Monday, May 22 at the Tuscaloosa River Market, 1900 Jack Warner Pkwy.
City officials being inaugurated include Walter Maddox, mayor; Phyllis Odom, district one; Raevan Howard, district two; Cynthia Almond, district three; Matt Calderone, district four; Kip Tyner, district five; Eddie Pugh, district six; and Sonya McKinstry, district seven.
Board of Education members include Eric Wilson, board chair; Matthew Wilson, district one; Kendra Williams, district two; C. Guy May, district three; Patrick Hamner, district four; Erica Grant, district five; Marvin Lucas, district six and Erskine Simmons, district seven.
Interviews with mayor and council may be conducted before the ceremony in the Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports Commission lobby at 9:15 a.m. Media should arrive and be set up by 9:10 a.m. Interviews with the School Board may be conducted after the ceremony.City councilors have an organizational meeting at noon in the City Hall Council Chambers.
Media cameras must be set up in the back of the River Market by 9:45 a.m. to preserve the integrity of the ceremony.
