TCS Hosting Summer Fair to Connect Parents with Summer Enrichment Opportunities
Community organizations will provide parents with information about summer program offerings at Tuscaloosa City Schools' "Summer Fair." The event is set for April 17, at Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools beginning at 6 p.m.
TCS is working to communicate summer enrichment offerings in the community to parents as part of the strategic plan.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Daria says his goal is to connect every student with a summer learning opportunity.
Research shows that students who are not engaged in summer learning opportunities are likely to experience some level of learning loss, commonly known as “summer slide.” This trend is further compounded for students living in poverty.
The Tuscaloosa City Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, or age in its programs and activities, and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.
