National Career Technical Education Month

Tuscaloosa Career & Technology Academy (TCTA) is joining with Career Technical Education (CTE) schools across the nation to observe CTE Month during the month of February. Providing college and career readiness with an emphasis on the development of workplace skills for local high school students is the core focus of the TCTA. Pathway programs prepare students to combine broad knowledge, insight and understanding of business processes, academic attainment and workplace readiness with depth of knowledge and expertise in a technical area.

CTE month is celebrated every February to bring awareness to the role CTE has in preparing students for career and college.  Students obtain knowledge and hands-on experience for future careers and become lifelong learners.

During this month, TCTA programs will partner with business and industry to visit local high schools to share opportunites available in Career Technical Education. Students will be able to gain relevant information regarding a career path of their choice and identify a program of interest for them.  Once enrolled, students can begin taking courses immediately in the fall.
