Bully Prevention Month

Bully Prevention Month

Ensuring every student has access to a safe learning environment is a core focus of the Tuscaloosa City Schools’ anti bullying efforts. Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools - Elementary is joining with schools across the nation to observe National Bullying Prevention Month during the month of October.

The goal: encourage communities to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children of all ages.

During this month,  Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools - Elementary students have lessons on the topic of bullying. Professional counselor, Dorie Edwards said the month provides a great opportunity to raise awareness about the issue.

Tuscaloosa City Schools initiated HALT, Harassment Awareness Learning Together, district-wide to combat bullying in the entire school system in August 2012. Learn more about the HALT initiative or to report an occurance of bullying in the Tuscaloosa City Schools.
